Isn't this Oriental basket fanciful? I've just received this gift from one of my students. This is entirely hand-made from Ang Pows (red packets).
Awesome! I'm already in the Chinese New Year mood. This basket is just perfect for me to load my Mandarin oranges. During Chinese New Year, Mandarin oranges are considered traditional symbols of abundance & good fortune. During the festive celebration, they are frequently displayed as decoration.
Do you also use ang pows to make your own CNY decor? What do you use to display your oranges?

ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful and thoughtful gift from your student, Shirley. I love that it's made of red envelopes! We just display our oranges in a normal bowl. I wish I had something like that to display them in though. Thank you for sharing.
